Thursday, March 8th - Question about zoom lenses
Anonymous asked: What kinda gear are you using primarily? What are your thoughts on the convenience of a zoom (say 24-70), vs Primes? Mostly for portraits and some events. Much like yourself. Big fan of your work by the way, really amazing shots and very impressive portfolio.

Hey thanks for the kind words! I shoot with a Canon 5D Mk2 for most of my work. For lenses I mainly use a Canon 35mm f1.4L, Canon 50mm f1.2L, Canon 85mm f1.8. I also own a Canon 16-35 f2.8L, Canon 24-70 f2.8L, and a Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS.

I prefer using primes over zooms in most situations mainly because of the wider apertures they allow me to use. Zoom lenses definitely have their place and I dont think there is anything wrong with using them at all. The only reason I dont use my 24-70 a lot is because its currently in need of repairs and I havent gotten around to fixing it yet.
